Sailing on BALMORAL to PORTUGAL and MOROCCO

We had a great club outing to
inspect
“Balmoral” before we decided on
this cruise sailing from
Southampton. We set off on a bright sunny day when
our friendly coach driver picked us up from each home and delivered us
safely to the ship.
Once on board our cases were waiting in our cabin. Oh
joy, no flying, no luggage problems!
A very successful and enjoyable holiday being blessed with good weather other than some rain at Lisbon and moderate to calm seas. A day sailing took us to our first port of call La Coruna, where many of us visited Santiago de Compostela before sailing in the sun to fantastic Casablanca.
On board we had great food, superb entertainment including live events by the Archers' and Agatha Christie teams and we met many new friends. We had a brilliant day to celebrate the Royal Wedding when Fred Olsen's crew gave us a superb day. We even won the quiz one evening, Jim, our President, had an official Probus birthday on board (maybe an excuse to have another celebration!), we entered in the spirit on the Western evening and had a Probus gathering.
It was a pity that it rained for part of our time in Lisbon but that didn't damper the enjoyable and interesting holiday, For the journey home our coach met us at the ship's side in Southampton ready to deliver us all back to our homes before lunch.
