SAILING on P&O ARTEMIS from Southampton to:

NORWAY  Stavanger; Bergen; Flaam & Olden

ICELAND  Akureyri; Isafjordur & Reykjavik

ISLE of MAN   Douglas       IRELAND Dublin

Twenty four of us had a great time on board mv ARTEMIS. .........

We set off from Southampton on a fine sunny day and except for a short shower of rain in Bergen we had super weather and calm seas throughout to give a most enjoyable and memorable cruising holiday. Needless to say the company was good and we congregated each evening at three adjacent tables to take our evening meal. That was just one of the many superb meals served during each day – certainly there was no shortage of food and some waist lines may have been challenged.

Our first stop was at Stavanger where the ship docked right in the town, as it did in Bergen. On the next two days we sailed the magnificent fjords of Norway under clear blue skies. At Flaam most of us went on the spectacular fjord railway; something not to be missed.

Then we had a relaxing day at sea as we sailed to Iceland. There was so much to do on board ship that relaxing may not have been the right expression but never-the-less a very enjoyable day. As on all days the evening finished with entertainment which included superb shows, cabaret, music, dancing, and more; not to mention the midnight feast.

We had three full day stop overs in Iceland which enabled us to see the diverse scenery and or even take boat rides to see more of the bird and animal life, including whales. Some even went bathing in the hot blue waters. We even stayed up late to see the midnight sun.

A two day sailing took us to Douglas in the Isle of Man, during which time we had a party visit onto the ship’s bridge and of course a visit to the galley and sampling chocolate cakes at the afternoon tea "chocoholics" event . Our final stop was Dublin’s fair city to round off a fortnight's holiday enjoyed by all.
